Adama Dicko & Seno Blues: Our Idea of World Music
Adama Dicko & Seno Blues—a cosmopolitan collective of musicians—have been performing in various formations for many years. Their unique music invites people to dance, transporting audiences into a realm of musical exchange. The collective’s musical spectrum ranges from simple to vibrant, meditative to impulsive.
At the heart of each performance shines Adama Dicko from Burkina Faso, with his compositions, N’Goni playing, and vocals. His powerful songs in Fula, Bambara, English and French speak of friendship, injustice, opportunity, loss, and hope.
World Music between Blues, Reggae, Jazz and African Rhythms
Adama Dicko & Seno Blues understand world music as the coming together of artists who draw upon their diverse cultural and musical backgrounds to form a whole greater than the sum of its parts — an approach that highlights the diversity of humanity and our shared connection on this planet. Building on N’goni plucking patterns, a rhythmic interplay unfolds between free improvisation and fixed form, where organic funk riffs, West African timbres, as well as various elements of blues, reggae and jazz join hands.
Adama Dicko & Seno Blues continuously inspire large audiences at their concerts across Europe, performing at events such as Africa Days in Vienna, the Long Night of World Music, the Chiala Festival in Graz, Kasumama Festival, Import/Export in Munich, Festival Pulakuu in Berlin, as well as on smaller stages.
Whether performing solo or as a band, Adama Dicko & Seno Blues offer a unique sound that weaves together blues, reggae, jazz, and African rhythms. Join us on an enriching journey and help build bridges between cultures through music.
